Jade Jones, the Fighter from Flintshire, wins Gold at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore 17.08.10 in the Taekwondo event.

This is the Great Britain's first ever Gold Medal at the Youth Olympic Games.

The Female -55kg Final was
JONES Jade (GBR) vs NGUYEN Thanh Thao (VIE)

On the way to the final Jade won against competitors from the Ivory Coast, Mexico and Sweden.

The British Olympic Association has selected members of Team GB for the Youth Olympic Games which take place from 14 to 26 August 2010 in Singapore.

The British contingent will include Jade Jones, European Bronze medallist, Junior World Silver medallist and Dutch Open Junior champion.

UTA Chairman Master Shin became European Bronze Medallist for the 2nd time when he finished 3rd in the Masters 2 category at 9th European Taekwondo Union Technical Championships held in Portugal.
The standard of poomsae was very high. Nine players from the British Team made it to the final of their category but Masters Shin's was the only player to achieve a medal placing.
